Serck, a leading international supplier of specialist heat transfer products and services and part of the Unipart Group of Companies, has won a £1.7m contract to deliver 19 heat exchangers in the Niger Delta region.
Dubai-based engineering, procurement and construction contractor Global Process Systems (GPS) placed the order for shell and tube heat exchangers as part of a £152m expansion project it is executing for a Nigerian oil company.
Serck has been designing and manufacturing a wide range of specialist heat exchange solutions around the world for more than 40 years. They have supplied hundreds of exchangers to tier-one customers across the Middle East and Africa.
This new project was awarded to Serck because of their expertise in heat transfer and the partnership approach to bringing an innovative engineering solution to the project. The team has designed a product that will cope with higher pressures in this particular project environment, which will result in substantial ongoing savings for the customer.
Alex Neill, Serck Managing Director, said: ‘The contract was won because of our history of successful projects like this one, and the collaborative approach with GPS, ultimately providing a final design to the customer to meet specific thermal and mechanical requirements and addressing challenges in the fluid process for the project, such as heat, fouling and pressure.
‘Our longevity and reputation as experts in heat exchangers, along with our expertise in the energy sector gave our customer GPS, as well as the end-user, reassurance they will receive a critical piece of project infrastructure that will be high-quality, operate safely, and that will exceed design requirements, delivered on time, within budget and without any issues.’
